Jacqueline B. Carroll brings extensive knowledge of federal court practice, as well as trial experience to Bernstein Law Firm. Jacqueline has represented clients in state and federal courts in cases involving RICO claims, employment disputes, breach of contract and fiduciary duties, family law, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Civil Rights claims. She has experience in appellate advocacy, having authored briefs for the Seventh Circuit, as well as several criminal and civil appeals in the First District of Illinois. Prior to joining the Bernstein Law Firm, Jacqueline was an Assistant State’s Attorney for over eleven years, where she prosecuted more than 100 misdemeanor trials, presented cases to the grand jury, argued over 200 criminal and civil motions in both federal and state courts, and litigated four successful jury trials.

Jacqueline earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in 1999 and her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2005. Jacqueline is admitted to the Illinois bar, and the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois. Jacqueline serves on the Board of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers and co-chairs the Decalogue Society’s Committee Against Anti-Semitism. Jacqueline also serves on the Anti-Defamation League’s Regional Board and is a member of their Civil Rights Action Committee. Jacqueline recently acted as moderator for a panel discussion on Birthright Citizenship and authored an article for the fall 2019 Decalogue Tablet entitled “The Rise of Othering- And Why We Must Fight It.”

Jacqueline has studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England, as well as Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago and Stella Adler in New York. She currently resides in Chicago and has been an active performer in the Chicago Bar Association’s Annual Bar Show for over six years.
